Conductive Rubber Keypads
Conductive rubber keypads were developed approximately 30 years ago, and were quickly recognized for their exceptional tactile feel, extremely lengthy operational lifetime, and, most importantly their reliability in a wide range of applications and environments. Other features of conductive rubber keypads include being contamination resistant, cold and heat resistant, operation over a wide temperature and humidity range, and solvent, chemical and steam resistant. First developed for the electronics industry, conductive rubber keypads met the demand at that time for an inexpensive momentary contact switch configuration. As silicone rubber keypads have evolved over the years, it has become more and more important that the silicone rubber keypad be well designed and produced, since it is a key integral part of any system or device.
